Most Windows and Mac machines come with a media player already installed and ready to go so unless you have had it removed from your machine, it should work properly without any changes. You can go to a site such as speedtest.net to test whether or not your machine meets the speed requirements. I-TRAIN™ will still load if you are using a speed slower than 10 MBPS, however, you may experience some difficulty loading the video portions. In most cases, you can check your browser version by going to the help drop down menu and selecting 'About'. If your version is not high enough then you will need to update your existing browser or switch to another browser. For example, if you are using a machine that has Internet Explorer 8 and cannot upgrade to a higher version than consider downloading another browser such as Chrome.
You can tell which version of IE you have by opening IE and going to the help menu, and then selecting about internet explorer.
Click the Web Address bar/URL at top of page to highlight the address and hit enter. Some browser will have a refresh button next to the web address bar as well.
If using Chrome, the external window is a new browser window. You will need to close that window browser tab only and click back on the tab with the I-TRAIN™ module.
The best way to attempt to resolve this issue is by refreshing the page. On windows machines this can be done by holding down the Ctrl key on the keyboard and pressing R at the same time or by hitting the F5 key. On a Mac it is done by holding down the Cmd key and pressing the R key at the same time.
Check to make sure that your speakers are working properly and that the volume is turned up to a sufficient level. If you are using a browser such as IE 10, you may see a pop up box at the bottom of the screen telling you that something needs your permission to continue. If this something is the application which your machine will use to play the audio files you will need to click 'Allow' before you will be able to hear sound. You should only have to do this once or not at all depending on your security settings and the browser you are using.
Refreshing the page will resolve most issues. On windows machines this can be done by holding down the Ctrl key on the keyboard and pressing R at the same time or by hitting the F5 key. On a Mac it is done by holding down the Cmd key and pressing the R key at the same time. If the video is still not loading after the refresh then your internet connection may be too slow to load the video properly. You can either attempt to log on at a different location with a faster speed or wait a few hours to see if your connection speed improves as connection speeds can vary especially at peak traffic times for your location.
This is most likely due to an insufficient internet connection. This can sometimes be resolved by waiting a few hours to see if your connection speed improves. If it does not improve or you are still having issues you may need to go to a different location with a faster internet connection. Your agency may be able to provide you with a list of public computers that you may be able to use in your local area.
